2013

People who parked on the street in our area found our flyers on their cars with these symbols:

We informed people and told them how they could participate. We appealed to City Council, filling council chambers with people who told them how much the new loss of parking was going to hurt Downtown Long Beach and Alamitos Beach property owners and residents. City Council did not change their parking plans. They said city parking lots provide adequate parking even though those lots would soon be developed. Our attorney, Jamie Hall from the Channel Law Group, filed litigation against the city and developer. The litigation was based upon the lack of adherence to CEQA standards (State environmental law). The resulting settlement was a small victory for both sides but will not affect other new developments.
